I am not an avid reader by any means, but I have still managed to read quite a few books in my life that I do feel strongly about. Here are my top 5 book recommendations.
1. Loose Women by Sandra Cisneros
A graduation gift from my English teacher which I still have in my possession today. A witchy book of poems by Hispanic Author Sandra Cisneros that gives you pure, raw, genuine emotions. Recommended for 18 plus.

2. The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger
I read this one my junior year of high school if I recall correctly. A book about an anti-social high school boy that left a mark on me ever since. An overall interesting read for any student 16 plus.

3. About David by Susan Beth Pfeffer
This is a book I happened to find at a thrift store called Bookmans in Arizona. A sort of slow thriller mystery about two friends and an apparent suicide. This one may be a trigger for anyone, so I recommend for ages 18 and over.

4. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
I waited too long after high-school and college to read this piece of art, but thankful I finally did. A novel written by Sylvia Plath based on her life experience during a summer in New York as an intern. A dark feel that may trigger the reader, I recommend this for ages 18 and up only.

5. Life As I Know It by Melanie Rose
One of my most recently read recommendations, I found this novel opened my mind to a whole new world of strange possibilities. A novel about a woman who gets struck by lightening and wakes up to a new life. An interesting read perhaps those who find themselves wondering what life would be as a different person. I recommend this book for any mature high-school student and older.
