How To Make Money on Your Blog

*This post contains affiliate links.

I’m not going to beat around the bush here, I am going to get straight to the point. The very first thing you need to do is get a web hosting service. I recommend Bluehost. This is where I went wrong in doing my research. I completely missed this step. Not only that, but most people were not giving me this very important piece of advice.

What is Bluehost?

Bluehost is a web hosting company owned by Endurance International Group. It is one of the 20 largest web hosts, collectively hosting well over 2 million domains. Bluehost was among those studied in the analysis of web-based hosting services in collaborative online learning programs. Wikipedia

What is web hosting, what does it do?

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that hosts websites for clients, i.e. it offers the facilities required for them to create and maintain a site and makes it accessible on the World Wide Web. Companies providing web hosting services are sometimes called web hosts. Wikipedia

Get all that? The important part to remember is that Bluehost makes your website accessible on the world wide web.

Once you sign up and pick your package and install Bluehost, you need to install WordPress. Create your blog.

Sign up, find and add in your affiliate marketing links. The best for me out right now is Amazon, but there are many more.

When you post your blogs, and people click on your links and make purchases, you should start to see clicks, fee’s, bounties and hopefully some income.

This is not a get rich quick strategy, but a get started quick strategy. I wish I knew this years ago. It is true, “you get what you pay for,” as I was refusing to spend and invest in myself. It pays itself off, and if you stick to it you should start to see growth.

There are plenty of other things to consider such as your experience with coding, and navigating the process in it’s entirety, but if you find yourself super confused right here in this article, I would advise to do just a little more research.

Until then, happy hosting, happy blogging, happy new year!
